About 20 yrs I became acquainted with some music by Palani Vaughan through a park dept hula class. I have some songs on cassettes taped off of old records (belonging to the teacher) that I believe are part of a 4 recording series. I would so like to get copies of all 4 recordings but haven't been able to find them. Looking on the internet they are out of print or even in libraries in Hawaii, seem to be lost. I think the series is called IA'OE E KA LA. Does anyone have any idea how to find them?

We recently visited Hawaii for the first time and heard lots of Hawaiian music but I still like Palani Vaughan best of all and would so like to find this series! Thanks for any suggestions...

Due to circumstances beyond his control, retailers have not been able to access Palani's wonderful recordings for a few years.

But good news -- it looks like this issue is close to being resolved, and at least his two "Best of..." and "Kaulana Na Pua" CDs may be available in 2008. Not sure what his plans are for the 4-piece set though (which was only released on vinyl and cassette)...

Thank you for your response! (I couldn't find this website again till now). I will watch for the CDs you mentioned. If you ever hear of the set being released again, or of the cassettes being available, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much!
